  • The second highest lighthouse in the world, Busan Tower was erected in 1973 at an altitude of 69m and height of 120m. It was based on the design of a lighthouse, and the top of the tower was modelled after the top of Bulguksa's Dabotap in Gyeongju. The observation deck affords spectacular views of the city, particularly at night.

  • Bosu-dong Book Street has a unique background. It was formed after the independence of Korea (August 15) as a residential area in the empty place where the previous Gukje Market was demolished.   • Since the APEC Summit Meeting in 2005, the Nurimaru APEC House has been the host of high quality international conferences and today the popular tourist spot still sees a daily 4000-5000 visitors. The Korean name 'nurimaru' means 'summit of the world' and the building is modelled on the traditional Korean jeongja, or pavilion. Visitors can feel the presence of the summit meeting inside the building.

  • Bulguksa Temple is the representative relic of Gyeongju and was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995. The beauty of the temple itself and the artistic touch of the stone relics are known throughout the world.
    The construction of Bulguksa Temple was begun by Gim Daeseong in 751 A.D., during the reign of King Gyeongdeok, and was completed in 774 A.D during the reign of King Hyegong. Its construction was begun and completed parallel with that of Seokguram.

  • Designated as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995, it is an artificial stone temple made of granite. The Bonjon figure wearing a generous smile is seated on the stage engraved with a lotus flower design. The rounded ceiling looks like a half-moon or a bow and has a lotus flower decorated cover on it. As the sunrise from this spot is quite beautiful, many people climb the mountain at daybreak.

  • Gyeongju Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond were the secondary palace site which was used for the palace of the Crown Prince along with other subsidiary buildings and it also was the banquet room for important national event and important visitors. After the fall of Silla, followed by Goryeo and Joseon, the site was named ‘Anapji’ instead.
